The site and the problem
The uncovered deck received strong afternoon sun and rain. The owner wanted overhead protection that retained useful daylight and suited the modern exterior.

What the client needed
- Cover the main deck area.
- Moderate glare without using an opaque roof.
- Coordinate the roof and frame with the house.
Design and installation approach
Smoke-grey solid polycarbonate provides a tinted roof surface above the deck. The black aluminium frame creates a consistent outline beside the dark windows.
A drainage fall directs collected roof water away from the entertaining area. Material reference graphics are retained separately from project photographs; they do not certify the installed roof’s fire, hail or thermal performance.
The result
The deck has a defined covered area that remains visually connected to the garden. Its roof adds overhead shelter while the sides stay open.
