The site and the problem
The exposed outdoor area needed better rain cover. The homeowner also wanted the new roof and supports to look coordinated with the existing facade.
What the client needed
- Provide cover above the patio.
- Retain daylight through the roofing.
- Coordinate column details and frame alignment with the home.
Design and installation approach
The aluminium framework supports light-transmitting solid polycarbonate panels. Decorative column details give the supports a different appearance from a plain post system.
The supplied concept and installation images document the design approach. Column spacing, roof alignment and the finish were considered as one composition beside the existing home.
The result
The patio has overhead cover and a more defined architectural edge. Its decorative supports distinguish this installation from the simpler frame details used on other pergola projects.
