FURITE SHADE · OUTDOOR LIVING
Motorised Louvre Pergola Melbourne
Adjust the shade. Let the breeze through.
A motorised aluminium louvre pergola lets you tilt the roof blades to manage light and airflow above your patio, deck or outdoor dining area.
Furite Shade serves Melbourne and surrounding suburbs, with installation enquiries welcome Australia-wide. Share your location and site details so we can confirm the design and installation scope.

Choose a layout around the way you use your space
Start with the furniture, doors and walkways beneath the roof. These images show design references; they are not presented as verified Melbourne installations.

Louvred patio by the house
Position the roof and posts around patio access, seating and the daylight you want to keep inside the house.

Garden-side dining pergola
A long layout can cover outdoor dining. Plan post spacing, furniture circulation and drainage along the full covered area.

White freestanding pergola
A freestanding layout creates a separate seating area. Consider foundations, roof height and surrounding landscaping together.

Attached patio layout
An attached layout places cover beside the house. Confirm the building connection, door clearance, roof drainage and impact on indoor light.

Pergola with side screening
Optional screens can help manage glare and privacy. Confirm compatibility and operating limits for the selected system.

Poolside louvre pergola
A poolside layout can shade a seating area. Allow for access, splash exposure, cleaning and nearby pool barriers.
What to confirm before you order
Choose the roof and controls as a complete system. Size, site exposure, drainage and the building connection affect what is suitable.
| Frame and finish | Aluminium frame, specified sections, colour and finish. Confirm suitability for the installation environment. |
|---|---|
| Roof movement | Tilting aluminium blades. Confirm the model, opening range and operating limits; full roof retraction is a separate feature. |
| Size and mounting | Overall footprint, usable height, post positions, freestanding or attached layout and engineered support details. |
| Controls and power | Included control method, motor specification, power supply, electrical installation and operation during a power failure. |
| Drainage | Roof water collection, gutters, outlets and discharge arrangement. Allow access for cleaning. |
| Optional accessories | Compatibility and separate pricing for sensors, lighting, screens and other proposed additions. |
| Installation and handover | Foundations, building connections, engineering and approvals responsibilities, exclusions, programme, care instructions and warranty terms. |
Closing the blades does not turn an open-sided pergola into a sealed room. Confirm weather limits and follow the supplied operating instructions.
Product drawings and options
The original supplier illustrations are retained below for reference. Confirm the exact model and inclusions in your quote; illustrated sizes and accessories are not a guarantee of availability or suitability.

Sizing and mounting reference
Supplier reference only. Confirm dimensions, post sections, colours and mounting arrangements for your site and selected system.

Pergola layout examples
Compare roof position, post layout and the connection to the house. Each arrangement needs suitable supports and foundations.

Controls and optional accessories
Sensors, lighting, screens and enclosure options are not all standard inclusions. Confirm compatibility, electrical work and the exact package in your quote.

Light and dark frame options
Design illustrations show alternative frame finishes. Confirm current colour options and finish samples before ordering.
Tilting louvres or a retractable transparent roof?
Tilting louvres rotate in place to change shade and airflow. Retractable roofs move the roof covering away to expose a larger area of sky. A transparent roof also admits daylight differently from aluminium blades.
The two references below show different roof and enclosure approaches. If you want a transparent or retracting system, explore our retractable sunroom options and tell us how much of the roof you want to open.

Transparent sunroom reference
A transparent roof enclosure is a different product from an aluminium louvre pergola. This retained reference illustrates an enclosed alternative; confirm panel material and opening mechanism separately.

Retractable transparent roof reference
This roof uses transparent panels and a retracting arrangement. It is a comparison reference, not an example of tilting aluminium louvres.
Send a few details for a practical quote
Include your suburb or postcode, photos of the area, approximate width and projection, preferred height and whether you want the pergola attached to the house. Mention any screens, lighting or sensor options you are considering.
We can discuss layout and next steps, then confirm scope and timing for the proposed installation.

Motorised louvre pergola FAQs
What is a motorised louvre pergola?
It is a pergola with roof blades that tilt using a motorised control. Changing their angle adjusts sunlight, shade and airflow. The blade movement, control options and operating limits depend on the selected system.
Is a louvre roof the same as a retractable roof?
No. Tilting blades rotate in place; a retractable roof moves panels or fabric away to create a larger opening. Some specialised systems combine movements, but retraction must be explicitly included in the quoted model. The main product shown here is a tilting aluminium louvre pergola.
Does a closed louvre roof keep out all rain?
A suitable closed roof and drainage system can provide overhead rain protection within its specified limits. Open sides can admit wind-driven rain. Ask for the selected system’s drainage details and weather operating instructions; it should not be assumed to create a fully waterproof room.
Which controls and accessories are available?
Ask about the controls supported by the selected motor, and whether rain or wind sensors, LED lighting and side screens are available. Accessories in reference diagrams are not automatically included. Confirm power supply, electrical installation, sensor behaviour and power-failure operation in writing.
Can it be freestanding or attached to the house?
Both arrangements can be considered. A freestanding design needs its own supports and foundations. An attached design also needs a suitable existing building connection. Site conditions, roof height, drainage and the engineered layout determine the appropriate solution.
How much does a motorised pergola cost?
The price depends on dimensions, span, frame and roof system, mounting arrangement, foundations, drainage, controls, accessories and site access. Send your postcode, photos and approximate measurements for an itemised quotation with inclusions and exclusions.
What should I check about engineering and permits?
Confirm the engineering and approval requirements for your address and proposed design before ordering. Ask who arranges documentation and approvals, what is included in the quotation and what work must be completed before installation.
How do I maintain the pergola?
Follow the supplied care instructions for the finish, roof blades, seals, gutters, motor and accessories. Keep drainage paths clear and arrange inspection if operation becomes uneven or noisy. Confirm service access, maintenance intervals and separate warranty terms for the structure, finish, motor and accessories.
